And the winners are ...
The inaugural winners of the new annual Neil Archbold Memorial Travel Awards and Medals have been decided.
The scheme reards the two higher degree by research candidates who are considered to have published the best peer-reviewed journal articles.
Ben Allardyce won in the science category. He plans to travel to Germany in November in order to undertake research at the Biological Institute of Helgoland.
Ben is supervised by Dr Stuart Linton, whose associated work with the Christmas Island Red Crabs is a feature of this month’s newsletter.
The winner in the humanities/social sciences category is Alison Carver.
Her prize of $2500 will allow her to travel overseas to continue her ground-breaking research into the application of a Geographical Information System to objectively measure attributes of the local road environment related to road safety and examine their associations with physical activity among youth.
