NHMRC honours Professor Jo Salmon

Deakin University's Professor Jo Salmon has been further honoured with an Achievement Award from the National Medical and Health Research Council (NHMRC).

"Jo received her award as the top ranked applicant for a Career Development Fellowship (Level 2) in Public Health for 2011," said Professor David Crawford, head of the University's Centre for Physical Activity and Nutrition Research (CPAN).

"The award was presented at the NHMRC's 75th Anniversary event in Canberra.  

"Jo has also been awarded a NHMRC Principal Research Fellowship which she will be taking up.

"Both are fantastic achievements and well deserved!"

This fellowship will use cutting-edge techniques to objectively assess children’s sitting time and will also examine the effectiveness of interventions to reduce sitting time and promote health.
