Deakin appoints three new personal chairs

Professor Sally Walker, Vice-Chancellor of Deakin University, has announced the appointment of three Personal Chairs.

The prestigious positions have gone to Professors Leigh Ackland, Damien Kingsbury and Jo Salmon.

“Personal Chair appointments are very highly regarded as they recognise that the staff member is a distinguished scholar of international standing,” said Professor Walker.

“The person must be recognised internationally as a leading authority in his or her discipline area.

“There is no doubt this is the case with Leigh, Damien and Jo. They are top people and Deakin is very proud of them.”
